SeaCoast Underwriters, Inc., now known as Risk Placement Services, is seeking a Wholesale Insurance Business Development Associate. This role focuses on business development in the insurance brokerage sector, where the individual will identify prospective clients, build relationships, and support revenue generation while developing the skills necessary to become a Producer.
Responsibilities
- Identify and research prospective clients
- Build relationships and drive interest in tailored insurance solutions
- Engage in prospecting activities and set appointments
- Support revenue generation for producers
- Manage accounts and guide clients through the sales cycle
- Develop technical skills needed to thrive in the insurance brokerage industry
- Work closely with underwriters and carriers to build strong partnerships
Skills
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- At least one year of experience in a related field
- Experience from relationship‑driven, service‑based sales environments
- Managing longer sales cycles with a strong focus on client trust
- Ongoing account management and renewal or repeat‑business growth rather than one‑time transactions
- Experience with cold calling, lead generation, and converting prospects into customers
- Ability to upsell and cross-sell products or services effectively
- A strong sense of urgency and persistence, thriving in high-pressure settings
- Exceptional communication skills, able to present ideas clearly and persuasively
- Emotional intelligence and adaptability to changing priorities
- Skilled at multitasking and managing multiple client interactions simultaneously
- Curiosity, learning agility, and a knack for building rapport and trust with diverse customers
