The Patient Access Scheduler will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, verifying demographic and insurance information, and providing compassionate service to patients in a call center environment.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments for various services, including diagnostic, surgical, and therapy visits
- Obtain and verify necessary demographic and insurance information from patients
- Register patients and accurately enter data into the scheduling system
- Meet individual quality metrics while working in a call center environment
- Provide professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, and community members
Skills
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology preferred
- Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR applications
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare compliance
- Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole
