Role Description Responsible for the physical development, implementation and maintenance of the database management systems and underlying databases for Froedtert & Community Health's Information Systems. This environment primarily includes Oracle and Microsoft SQLServer databases running on UNIX and Windows platforms. This position will also assist the Applications team in the installation and support of major business application and data warehousing initiatives supporting the hospitals' end user departments. • Work closely with Team Lead and Manager to ensure that the database environment delivers at a service level consistent with organizational risk, information access requirements, and business strategies. • Improve or maintain a high level of database system performance and availability through the implementation of sound technologies. • Work with other staff to ensure proper implementation of computing infrastructure in support of business application initiatives. • Promote teamwork, stewardship, and accountability. • Provide technical consulting on moderate to complex initiatives. • Evaluate existing systems and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements as required. • Provide updates regarding the performance and availability of the Database environment and proactively work to resolve problems. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Two or more years of relevant database administration experience is required. • Knowledge of computer principles at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technology field or acquired through a combination of education and experience is required. Requirements • Understanding of Windows, Unix, and Linux. • Proficient knowledge and skill in programming languages (SQL, Java, HTML, Python, Powershell, etc.). • Proficient knowledge of databases (MS SQL, Oracle, etc.). • Knowledge of IT services, applications, and infrastructure. • Solid capabilities working to plan and meet deadlines. • Good interpersonal skills in communications with all levels of hospital personnel, vendors, and IT personnel.
