Job Description:
• Provide comprehensive support for employment litigation, including managing the discovery process, drafting responses to interrogatories, and coordinating document productions.
• Generate and maintain internal legal reports and dashboards to track matter status, litigation trends, and key performance metrics for senior legal leadership.
• Assist attorneys in responding to administrative charges filed with the EEOC and various state and local human rights agencies.
• Conduct legal research on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA).
• Draft and proofread legal documents, including settlement agreements, separation agreements, and internal legal memoranda.
• Organize and maintain employment legal files and databases, ensuring all documentation is current and compliant with company retention policies.
• Support the review and update of company-wide employment policies, employee handbooks, and training materials.
• Coordinate and schedule interviews, depositions, and meetings with internal witnesses and external counsel.
• Liaise with Human Resources and business units to gather facts and documents necessary for legal assessments and defense strategies.
• Manage legal holds and ensure proper preservation of evidence related to pending or threatened employment litigation.
Requirements:
• Must be local to the Dearborn, MI area and available to work on-site.
• Strong knowledge of employment law principles and the litigation lifecycle.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills, with proficiency in Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar legal research tools.
• Proficiency in data management and the ability to compile complex information into clear, concise internal reports.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in document preparation and filing.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
• Superior organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with legal document management systems.
