Job Requisition: JR100768 Academic Advisor, Undergraduate Business Programs (Open) Job Posting Title: Academic Advisor, Undergraduate Business Programs Job Family: Staff - Academic Advising Number of Openings: 1 Worker Sub-Type: Regular (benefited) Job Requisition Primary Location: Miller Hall Primary Job Posting Location: Miller Hall Job Description Summary: Reporting to the Director, Undergraduate Business Programs, this position helps students navigate their academic journey by providing guidance on course selection, degree planning, career goals, and connecting them with appropriate campus resources, ensuring they meet graduation requirements while addressing any academic challenges they may face; key responsibilities include monitoring student progress, interpreting university policies, and offering individualized support to facilitate successful academic decision-making. Job Description: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two-years of work experience. Ability to clearly explain complex information, actively listen to student concerns, and provide empathetic support. Capability to assess student situations, identify challenges, and develop effective solutions. Ability to maintain accurate student records and monitor academic progress meticulously. Understanding and respecting student backgrounds and perspectives. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Counseling, Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration. Experience in a higher education environment. Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS) such as Banner, Client Relationship Management Systems (CRM), DegreeWorks. Thorough understanding of the university's degree programs, course offerings, and academic policies. Additional Job Description: Additional Job Description This position is student-facing and therefore only eligible for remote work during times of the year that academic demands are at the lowest. Remote work scheduling will be determined by the administration of the Mason School of Business. Annual Salary: Up to $55,000, commensurate with experience.
